Location: Greensburg, PA 15601
Job Type: Contract
Weekly Gross : $2050 - $2300
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift Details:Night: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)Day: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Job Overview:
A Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry provides specialized care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring in an acute care setting. This role focuses on monitoring heart rhythms, detecting abnormalities, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
Telemetry RNs work in a fast-paced environment that demands strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include interpreting cardiac telemetry strips, administering medications, monitoring post-procedure cardiac patients, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment
- Identify and respond promptly to arrhythmias or changes in patient condition
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including cardiac and vital signs monitoring
- Administer medications, including cardiac drugs, as prescribed
- Provide care for cardiac patients (e.g., post-cath, post-procedure)
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and discharge instructions
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of telemetry equipment
- Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control guidelines
Required Qualifications:
- Active PA or Compact RN License
- BLS (AHA) – Required
- ACLS (AHA) – Required
- NIHSS Certification – Required
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Telemetry experience
- Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
