Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Cairo, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights, some weekends and holidays
Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum units.
• Manage approximately 210-230 deliveries per year.
• Unit includes 5 labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms and 10 bassinets.
• Minimal to no Return to Origin (RTO) allowed; must be included on submission.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
• Fetal Monitoring System: PeriWatch.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certificate (Advanced fetal monitoring certificate also accepted)

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 1 year recent Labor & Delivery experience required.
• Nursery experience (Level 1-2) required.
• Skills: Newborn Care, Postpartum Care, Labor and Delivery, IV Starts, Medical Screening Exam, Vaginal Exams.
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required.
• Must wear Royal Blue scrubs (not provided).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• Nursery experience
• Postpartum Care
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certificate
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted).
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted).
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
• Tdap vaccine required for Labor & Delivery and Mother & Baby units.
• Annual flu vaccination required during flu season unless approved medical/religious exemption.
• Fit test for masks completed onsite at no cost.
• Fingerprinting per Georgia Criminal History Check System (GCHEXS) required for CNAs (not RN).
• References: Two recent supervisor/manager level references required, verified within 12 months.
• Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually.
• Facility-specific health and safety training modules must be completed prior to start.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the assignment location.
• Photo for badge must be submitted within 24 hours of signing.
• Facility assigns HealthStream modules that must be completed before the first day.
• Strict dress code adherence required.
• Minimal to no Return to Origin (RTO) allowed.
