📍 Facility: WFBMC Main – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

🌟 Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse for a high-acuity, fast-paced Level I Trauma and academic medical center. This role involves caring for critically ill cardiac patients requiring advanced cardiovascular support.
🕒 Schedule
- Shift: 12-Hour Days (06:30 AM – 07:00 PM)
- Hours: 48 hours/week
- Weekend Rotation: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- Holidays: 75% required
- On-Call: None
🏥 Facility Highlights
- 885-bed Level I Trauma Center
- Teaching / Academic Medical Center
- Certified Chest Pain & Stroke Center
- 22-bed CVICU with ~20 patients/day census
👩⚕️ Patient Population
- Post CABG, valve repair/replacement
- Impella, IABP, LVAD, ECMO patients
- Thoracic aortic aneurysms
- Complex cardiac critical care cases
⚕️ Responsibilities
- Provide critical care to cardiovascular ICU patients
- Perform advanced cardiac assessments and hemodynamic monitoring
- Manage vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips
- Care for circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO)
- Collaborate with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation (Epic preferred)
✅ Requirements
- Minimum 2 year CVICU experience
- Active RN License (NC or Compact)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- CCRN preferred
- Experience with:
- Cardiac monitoring & waveform interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Critical care drips & devices
⚙️ Unit & Support
- RN Ratio: 1:2
- CNA support (1:20)
- 24/7 Intensivist & Respiratory Therapy
- Charge nurse (may take assignment)
- Equipment: Epic, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, Philips monitors, NxStage (CRRT)
🔄 Additional Details
- Floating: To other critical care units (PCU/MS as needed)
- Orientation: 1 week NEO + 2–3 days unit orientation
- Scrubs: Royal Blue (provided guidelines)
- Parking: Available onsite
