📌 Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a Neuro-Oncology unit at a top-tier teaching hospital. This unit provides comprehensive cancer care across all stages, including chemotherapy administration and post-surgical oncology care, along with occasional neuro step-down overflow.
🩺 Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care to oncology patients across all phases of treatment
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy (IV, oral, continuous infusions)
- Manage oncologic emergencies (sepsis, tumor lysis syndrome, etc.)
- Perform central line, PICC, and port care
- Administer blood products and supportive therapies
- Deliver patient and family education, including end-of-life care when appropriate
- Monitor and manage treatment side effects (neuropathy, nausea, mucositis, etc.)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care
- Float to intermediate units as needed
✅ Requirements
- Active RN License (MO or Compact; pending accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology RN experience
- BLS Certification from AHA (required)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (preferred)
- Strong experience with inpatient oncology and chemotherapy administration
💡 Preferred Qualifications
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Teaching hospital experience
- Experience with Epic charting system
🏥 Assignment Details
- Unit: Neuro Oncology / Inpatient Oncology
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Patient Population: Adult
- Floating: Yes (within scope to intermediate units)
- Weekend Requirement: 8 shifts per 6-week schedule period
- On-Call: Not required
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
