ER Registered Nurse (Night Shift, Float Pool)

Position: RN – Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Los Angeles, CA 

Duration: ~13 weeks

🕒 Schedule & Hours

• Shift: Night shift
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (facility need)
• Float Pool: Yes (ER float)

Requirements (Hard Stops)

• CA RN License
• Minimum 3 years ER experience
• Recent ER experience required
  → Must have worked in ER within the last 3 months
• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS
• Hospital Fire & Life Safety Card

Department

• Emergency Room (ER)
• Float pool role → must be comfortable adapting to different ER units/workflows

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all acuity levels in a fast‑paced ER environment
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization based on acuity and presenting conditions
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and trauma-related care
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and emergency protocols
• Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring immediate escalation
• Collaborate closely with ER physicians, trauma teams, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Respond effectively to codes, trauma activations, and medical emergencies
• Float between ER units as needed, adapting quickly to different workflows and patient populations
• Ensure compliance with hospital safety policies, including fire and life safety procedures
• Provide patient and family education appropriate to emergency care and discharge planning
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient care environment during high census and high‑stress situations
