This is a 13-week contract role for an Interim HIM Director at a critical access hospital that serves as the primary healthcare hub for rural communities. If you're someone who thrives in hands-on leadership roles and enjoys making an immediate impact, this is a great fit.

• Leadership position with full control over HIM operations
• Work in a close-knit hospital environment (avg census ~28 patients)
• Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends, no on-call)
• Opportunity to drive compliance, improve workflows, and lead a team

Core Experience

• Minimum 5+ years in HIM (Health Information Management)
• Prior leadership or director-level experience (strongly preferred)
• Experience in hospital settings (rural/critical access is a big plus)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee medical records management & coding operations
• Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.)
• Maintain data integrity and documentation standards
• Supervise and support HIM staff
• Work hands-on in a fast-paced, small team environment
• Manage and optimize workflows using Meditech EMR

Technical & Functional Skills

• Medical coding & billing knowledge
• HIM compliance & auditing
• EMR systems (Meditech preferred)
• Process improvement & staff management
• Strong communication & problem-solving skills

Mandatory Requirements

• Flu vaccine (no exceptions)
• Must live outside 100-mile radius of Globe, AZ
• Ability to commit to 13-week contract
• Max 3 days RTO (requested time off)
