Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care primarily on Medical Surgical and Pulmonary units.
- Patient types include Pulmonary and Med Surg patients.
- Float across multiple campuses within the local area.
- Unit details:
- Bed size: 23
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4-6
- Drip medications include Heparin.
- May care for ventilated patients on BiPAP, trach care, and COVID+ patients.
- Charge nurse responsibilities required.
- Level I trauma experience is highly preferred.
Schedule & Hours
- 36-40 hours per week, with overtime after 40 hours.
- Night shift.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in Charge nurse roles
- Pulmonary patient care experience, including pulmonology experience
Additional Information
- Orientation start date in early June.
- Must be willing to float across multiple campuses.
- Experience with level I trauma patients is a plus.

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
