Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – MedSurg/Telemetry | Memphis, TN | 13-Week Contract
We are seeking experienced MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurses for a travel assignment at a leading Level I Trauma Center in Memphis, TN. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment ideal for nurses with strong clinical and oncology experience.
📍 Location: Memphis, TN
🏥 Facility: Methodist University Hospital
📅 Start Dates: May 4 or May 18, 2026
⏳ Duration: 13 weeks
🕒 Shift: Nights | 4x12s (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
📌 Openings: 3 positions
💼 Position Overview:
- Unit: MedSurg/Telemetry (with some Oncology)
- Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
- Unit Size: 45 beds | Daily census: 30–35 patients
- Team Nursing Model: Approx. 1:12 ratio split across RNs, LPNs, and Med Nurses
- Work with surgical oncology patients, medical-surgical overflow, and telemetry cases
- Exposure to central lines (PICC, PAC), wound care, ostomies, drains, PCA pumps, and chemotherapy (ONS-certified nurses)
✅ Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of RN experience (3+ preferred)
- Travel experience required (at least 1 completed assignment)
- MedSurg Oncology experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Experience in large hospital settings preferred
- Active RN license (Compact/NLC required)
- Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
- Skills: IV starts required; chemo administration and conscious sedation preferred
⚠️ Important Candidate Criteria:
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Must live 100+ miles from facility (no local candidates)
- All RTO must be submitted upfront
- Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays (if applicable)
- Candidates must meet all compliance requirements at submission
🕒 Scheduling & Additional Info:
- 36 or 48 hours/week available
- Weekend and on-call requirements as needed
- Floating possible within similar units (rare across campuses)
