Description
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Travel Assignment
Location: West Bloomfield, Michigan
Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in Labor & Delivery and postpartum settings
- Perform patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and emergency situations
- Educate patients and families regarding childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care
- Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and clinical protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (REQUIRED)
- Postpartum experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (REQUIRED – must be active)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity maternity environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience in high-volume or tertiary care L&D units
