🏥 Job Overview
Join a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit at Providence Swedish First Hill Campus. This role is ideal for experienced L&D nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and are confident managing complex maternal and neonatal cases.
⚠️ This is NOT a first-time traveler assignment — prior travel experience is required.
👶 Key Responsibilities
- Manage laboring patients (1:1–1:2 ratios) in high-acuity settings
- Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring (Epic system)
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer
- Administer critical medications (Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, Heparin)
- Support postpartum and antepartum patients as needed
- Float between L&D, postpartum, and antepartum units
🚨 HARD STOP REQUIREMENTS (Do Not Apply Without These)
- Minimum 3+ years L&D experience in high-acuity settings
- Previous travel experience required
- Must be able to:
- Circulate for C-sections
- Perform newborn care (eyes, thighs, assessments)
- Act as Baby Nurse at delivery
- Experience with high-risk deliveries and fast-paced units
- Epic charting + electronic fetal monitoring required
✅ Required Certifications
- BLS from AHA
- NRP
- Active RN License (WA or Compact)
⭐ Preferred Certifications
- ACLS
- AWHONN Intermediate / Advanced
🏥 Unit Details
- Unit Type: High-Risk Labor & Delivery
- Census: ~15 patients/day (500–600 deliveries/month)
- Rooms/Beds: 31
- OR Suites: 4
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, adolescents, adults
- Floating: Yes (L&D, postpartum, antepartum, sister campuses)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 36 hours
