Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Starts 05/05/2026)

Shift: 4x10-Hour Day Shifts | Call Required Call Specifics: Rotating evening/night/weekend call. Generally 1 weekend per 8-week period and 4–5 weeknight shifts.

Job Summary

A high-performing Level III Trauma Center, is seeking an experienced OR RN proficient in both circulating and scrubbing. With 4 state-of-the-art suites (and a 5th on the way), this facility handles a robust surgical volume. You will be part of a team utilizing advanced Robotic platforms (DaVinci, Mako, Stealth) across diverse specialties. This role is perfect for a versatile "dual-threat" nurse who thrives in a technologically advanced, mountain-town surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intraoperative Management: Serve as the primary patient advocate during the surgical procedure; maintain the sterile field and oversee all nursing care within the OR suite.
  • Circulating Duties: Coordinate the room, manage non-sterile equipment, perform counts with the scrub tech, and document the case in Meditech.
  • Scrub Duties: Select and pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon; anticipate needs and maintain a high level of aseptic technique.
  • Robotic Assistance: Assist in robotic-assisted cases using DaVinci, Mako, Exactech, and Stealth systems.
  • Diverse Service Lines: Provide care across General, Neuro, Brain/Spine, Ortho/Spine Trauma, OB-GYN, ENT, Plastics, and Urology.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of OR experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating is required.
  • Licensure: Active Colorado (CO) or Compact RN License in good standing.
  • Certifications: Current AHA BLS and ACLS required at time of submission.
  • Radius Rule: Permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.

Facility & Housing Details

  • Facility: Valley View Hospital.
  • Address: 1906 Blake Avenue, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.
  • EMR: Meditech.

Financial & Logistics Notes

  • Shift Information: 40 hours guaranteed via 4x10s.
  • Call Requirement: Weekend call (Fri 1900 – Mon 0700) and weeknight call (1900 – 0700).
  • Submission Requirements: Agency must include Resume, Nursys verification, AHA BLS/ACLS copies, and a Skills Sheet.

Clinical Spotlight: The Perioperative Navigator

In a Level III Trauma center, the OR RN is a "Perioperative Navigator." Because the facility covers everything from Brain/Spine to Ortho/Spine Trauma, your ability to quickly transition between a routine elective procedure and an emergency trauma case is vital. Your proficiency with Robotic systems like the DaVinci or Mako is particularly important here, as these platforms require specialized knowledge of docking, instrumentation, and troubleshooting to ensure patient safety and surgeon efficiency.

Glenwood Springs is home to the world's largest mineral hot springs pool and is surrounded by incredible hiking and skiing.
