Work Experience

Registered Nurse (1 year)
Behavioral Health Nurse (1 year)

Description

Schedule: Saturday/Sunday 7a-11pm & Monday 2-10:30pm

Certs: AHA BLS

Experience:

Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse and able to practice in the State of Texas
Prefer 2+ years as a direct care nurse.
Prefer some experience in direct client care in a psychiatric type setting but not required.
2-3 weeks of unit mentorship with a seasoned RN
Experience needs to be hospital acute care, LTC , community clinics, public health, etc. (not Home Health or School Nurse)
1 year experience in a facility setting for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, and units with medically fragile individuals or areas with a higher acuity, more skilled nursing
Psych experience is preferred, candidates coming from nursing home environments have also had success.
Experience with a larger med pass (could have up to 24 individuals taking multiple medications).
Nurses with experience in Nursing Homes do better here.
Home Health, Clinic, and Hospice experience does not prepare a nurse for medication administration like that.
