Utilization Review Nurse RN - 65/hr - Las Vegas, NV
Job Type: Full-Time
Travel: No | Shift: Days (Flexible) | Start Date: ASAP
Position Summary

In this critical role, you'll evaluate patient admissions for medical necessity, optimize resource utilization, and ensure compliance with payer guidelines and regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Review patient admissions for medical necessity and resource appropriateness
- Apply InterQual and/or Milliman criteria to clinical cases
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements
- Analyze medical records, clinical documentation, and patient charts
- Collaborate with care teams on discharge planning and case management
- Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- 5+ years acute care clinical nursing experience
- 3+ years Utilization Management experience
- 3+ years discharge planning in acute care
- 1+ year in Utilization Management, Case Management, or CDI
Licensure & Certification
- Active or eligible RN license in Nevada
- Recent InterQual experience and ability to pass InterQual exam
Skills & Competencies
- Expert in InterQual/Milliman criteria
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations
- Proficient in clinical data interpretation and documentation
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Comfortable with healthcare software and computer systems
Work Environment
- Office/clinical hybrid setting
- Mostly daytime hours with potential shift flexibility
- Extended computer use: effective communication required
