Position: CVICU RN – Nights

Schedule:

• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:30 – 08:00)

Requirements:

• RN license (MD state)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Experience: Open to first-time travelers with 2+ years of CVICU / open heart experience

Unit Details:

• Beds: 8
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2 (1:1 for first 12 hours post-op)
• Patient Population: Adults – Geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses:

• Cardiac Surgery: CABG, valve, CABG/valve
• CAD: STEMI, NSTEMI
• Arrhythmias: AFIB with RVR
• Cardiogenic shock
• Vascular: Peripheral bypasses, EVAR
• Thoracic: VATS

Responsibilities & Procedures:

• Immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients
• Ventilator management with respiratory therapy
• Hemodynamic monitoring (FloTrac)
• CRRT
• IABP & Impella management
• Groin/radial artery management (FemStop, TR bands)

Floating:

• Required within specialty and to other units/sister SRH facilities (within scope)
• May float to IMC (ratio 1:3)

Additional Details:

• Scrub Color: Navy preferred
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Holidays: Required as scheduled
• On-call: Not required
