Description

RN (Registered Nurse) ICU

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average census of 16 patients
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3 (ICU) and 1:4–5 when floated
Assess, monitor, and manage critically ill patients, including:
- Trauma and post-surgical cases
- Cardiac conditions (post-stent, pacemaker, heart failure)
- Stroke, sepsis, renal failure, respiratory distress
- Overdose and substance abuse cases
Titrate medications and drips including cardiac, insulin, and sedation infusions
Operate and troubleshoot respiratory support equipment (NC to ventilator support)
Interpret and document telemetry readings (GE monitoring system)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapists and support staff
Float to PCU or MedSurg units as required

Shift & Schedule
Day Shift: 06:30 – 18:30
Night Shift: 18:30 – 06:30
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday requirement: Minimum 2 holidays per contract
No guaranteed block scheduling (except weekends-only requests)

Required Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIHSS (Stroke Certification)
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license required at submission (used for radius verification)
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Must not be employed (FT/PT/PRN) with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health
