Job Opportunity: RN - Med/Surg Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Requirements

  • Experience:

    • Minimum years of experience in specialty: Not explicitly stated; assume standard for RN Telemetry I (typically 1+ years).

  • Schedule:

    • Every other weekend required
    • Easter coverage required

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Licensure:

    • Current, active RN license in Florida with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.

  • Certifications:

    • BLS (American Heart Association) required.
    • Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years).
    • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start, updated every 3 years).
    • NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years).
    • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years).
  • Health & Immunizations:

    • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination.
    • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
    • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine; no declinations accepted.
    • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
    • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire. Two-step PPD or IGRA required within 90 days prior to start.
    • Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required (preferred prior to start).
    • 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
    • Driver’s License/State ID valid and matching address requirements.
    • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks within 30 days prior to assignment.
    • Employment Verification for past 7 years.
    • Education Verification within 90 days prior to start.
    • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills) completed within one year of start and updated annually.
    • Ascension Cerner Test-Out and other onboarding education attestations required.
    • Ascension Profile and at least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
    • Badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations).

Additional Notes

  • Multiple mandatory onboarding and compliance trainings must be completed prior to or shortly after assignment start.
  • Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
  • Travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
