Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CCU Registered Nurse (RN) for a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) ICU setting. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex conditions such as ventilator dependence, spinal cord injuries, and advanced wound care needs. You’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shifts: 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required based on unit needs 

Assignment Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Unit: LTAC ICU / Med-Surg (shared staffing)
• Patient Ratio:
  • ICU: 1:2
  • Med-Surg: up to 1:5
• Facility includes 12-bed ICU and 31-bed Med-Surg unit
• Average daily census: 25 patients 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients requiring ventilator support and complex medical management
• Administer and titrate IV medications including vasopressors and insulin drips
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergencies
• Manage central lines, arterial lines, and other IV therapies
• Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care 

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (SC or compact)
• Minimum 1 year of CCU/ICU/LTAC experience
• At least 1 year of Epic charting experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• Strong experience with critical care medications and ventilator management 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel experience
• Experience in LTAC or similar high-acuity settings
• Charge nurse or teaching hospital experience 

Patient Population

• Adults and geriatrics (18+)
• Vent weaning patients
• Spinal cord injuries
• Trach/PEG patients
• Advanced wound care 

Additional Information

• First-time travelers accepted (based on experience)
• Floating required within Prisma Health system
• 16-hour orientation provided
• Omnicell medication system used
