Registered Nurse - CVICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12's)

  • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Shift rotation may be adjusted based on hospital operational needs
• Must work at least every other holiday
• Weekly hours: 36

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of CVICU experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required (driver’s license or state ID)
• Background check required prior to start, including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3
  • Education verification
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 48 hours of contract signing, results required within 12 months and updated annually (code 4723.09 for nursing)
• Fingerprinting must be completed prior to start; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite

Orientation and Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Modules include mandatory videos and tests; skipping videos will lock out access
• SafeMedicate prep materials provided before orientation
• Baseline competency exams at orientation:

  • Medication administration exam (SafeMedicate) – 90% passing score
  • ECG interpretation exam – 80% passing score
• Candidates unsuccessful on first attempt receive remediation and retake opportunities
• Not required for legacy candidates or agency flips with less than 6 months gap between contracts at this facility

Documentation and Verification

• Employment application with at least 3 years prior work history, including 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
• Nursys verification within 30 days of start
• Photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, white background) required for certain roles (not applicable here)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID while on assignment
• Candidates with latex allergies must notify facility for latex-free glove availability
• Religious and medical exemptions for certain vaccines and fit mask may be submitted for review and approval
• Candidates must be aware that onboarding modules and documentation are high priority and must be completed without delay

This position is ideal for experienced CVICU RNs with current Ohio licensure seeking a 13-week travel contract with rotating 12-hour shifts in a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU setting.
