Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced high-acuity Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced, high-volume maternity unit. This role requires strong experience in high-risk obstetrics and the ability to independently manage laboring patients, circulating in OR, and providing immediate newborn care in a Level III/IV L&D environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12s)
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required as needed
• Floating required to Antepartum, Postpartum, and sister Mother/Baby units
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks 

Assignment Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• High-risk, high-volume L&D unit
• Approximately 500–600 deliveries/month
• Average daily census: ~15 patients
• 31 beds / 4 ORs 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for high-risk laboring and postpartum patients
• Circulate in L&D OR for C-sections and deliveries
• Perform full newborn care including assessment, Vit K administration, eye/thigh prophylaxis, and transition care to postpartum
• Manage medications including Magnesium Sulfate, Heparin, and Insulin protocols
• Support antepartum, postpartum, and recovery patients as needed
• Monitor fetal heart patterns using electronic fetal monitoring
• Work in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines 

Required Qualifications (HARD STOP)

• Minimum 3–5 years of recent high-acuity L&D experience (NO EXCEPTIONS)
• Must have experience in high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery
• Must be able to independently:
  • Circulate in L&D OR (REQUIRED)
  • Function as Baby Nurse during delivery (REQUIRED)
  • Provide full newborn care and assessments (REQUIRED)
• Must NOT be a first-time traveler
• Must pass clinical review
• Active NURSYS verification required 

Required Certifications

• BLS from AHA
• NRP 

Preferred Certifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Intermediate / Advanced 

Additional Requirements

• Epic EMR experience required (HARD STOP)
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
• Supervisory references required
• Must provide proof of all required certifications at submission
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Float required within Women’s & Children’s services (Antepartum/Postpartum/Mother-Baby)
• High compliance standards; clinical screening required prior to consideration
