Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg / Telemetry Registered Nurse for its Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. This role focuses on caring for patients recovering from neurological injuries and complex medical conditions, including stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation in a structured acute care rehab setting.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12s)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holidays as needed
• Floating required across the campuses if necessary 

Assignment Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Unit: Inpatient Rehabilitation (Med Surg / Telemetry)
• Patient ratio: 1:6 (some assignments may vary up to 1:7 based on acuity rotation)
• Average census: 39 patients
• Orientation: 16 hours 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in acute rehabilitation settings
• Manage neurological and post-acute recovery cases
• Perform medication administration and reconciliation
• Monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms
• Assist with wound care and sterile/aseptic procedures
• Support lab specimen collection and basic phlebotomy
• Communicate with pharmacy and providers for medication needs
• Ensure safe and accurate documentation in Epic 

Patient Population

• CVA (Stroke)
• TBI / ABI
• Spinal cord injuries
• Post-operative surgical recovery
• General neurological and debility patients 

Required:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• BLS certification
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias / EKG required
• Must pass Cone Health EKG exam (pass/fail requirement)
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Driver’s License is required at the time of submission.

Preferred Experience

• Acute care rehabilitation experience
• Strong telemetry and neurological patient experience
• Prior experience in high-acuity Med Surg settings

Unit & Facility Details

• EMR: Epic
• Support services: IV team, RT, pharmacy, rapid response, social work, radiology
• Specialty rehab unit for complex neurological recovery patients
• Interdisciplinary care model 

Additional Requirements

• Mandatory compliance questionnaire required prior to submission
• Strict attendance and punctuality policy
• Float required across all Cone Health campuses
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Full compliance required before start deadline (no exceptions)
