GLC Government Services is seeking a Recreational Therapist to work on a long-term government contract with the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Pay: $40.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. No weekends or holidays.

The Recreational Therapy (RT) Section of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department (RMD) provides clinical and research services to support initiatives in the Clinical Center. Services include clinical evaluation and treatment of biomedical research patients and independent and/or collaborative research with institutes to identify and contribute to the understanding of functional outcomes related to natural history or drug efficacy trials

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have a minimum of 3 years of documented recent clinical experience in the treatment of medically complex patients in a hospital setting.
• Active NCTRC certification
• Possess current CPR certification.

JOB DUTIES:

• Assessment of ongoing needs, implementation of a treatment plan, evaluation, clinical care program development, and collaboration with institute principal investigators to determine the role of recreational therapy concerning the NIH patient populations.
• Patient evaluation/treatment/and discharge planning to effectively identify patients' strengths and continued challenges related to their overall health and well-being.
• Selection and use of outcome measures to document functional outcomes of clinical care or collaborative institute research
• Effective team collaboration in interdisciplinary meetings
• Collaborative Research Program Development and Implementation
