Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician to join the Chenega healthcare team for a contract assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and supporting physicians with accurate imaging results for clinical evaluation and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as ordered by physicians and healthcare providers.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to obtain clear, accurate images.
- Review patient history and clinical information to determine appropriate imaging techniques.
- Recognize and document abnormal findings for physician interpretation.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and safety during all imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records, scan documentation, and imaging reports.
- Follow all facility protocols, HIPAA guidelines, and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality assurance and equipment maintenance checks.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Active ARDMS certification (or equivalent relevant certification).
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent ultrasound/sonography experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and general ultrasound imaging.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospital or government healthcare settings.
- Experience with EMR/EHR documentation systems.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts based on facility needs.
