Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Position: Tele RN (We staff with PCU level nurses)

Shift: 3x12 or 4x12

Start: April or May

• Please indicate if traveler would like 36 or 48 hours at time of sub. Days/Nights to be assigned at orientation but will not rotate (will never work days and nights within same week).

Facility Overview:

• Community Hospital Setting
• RNs do all the clinical Work; no IV team
• They don’t have residents at this hospital
• They do have a good support system in place for their RNs
• Hospital Census Limits - Typically run count of 130-150 Patients

Details:

• 3+ Years of Recent PCU or Stepdown experience
• Looking for around 4-5+ years of total RN experience, preferably 2+ years of staff and 2+ years of travel
• Vent Experience - the vented patients on this unit will be lower acuity than ICU, but the RNs should still be able to care for them
• Trach management
• Heavy patients with CHF, CRF, hemodialysis patients, electrolyte abnormalities
• Experience with chest tubes and lumbar drains
• Strong Drip Management
• Care of MI, Cardiomyopathy, PCI, CVA Patients
• Dopamine, Dobutamine, Amio, Cardizem, Heparin drip care and experience (no titrating on floor but will need to manage these gtts so must be knowledgeable and comfortable with them)
• Personality is important! This island is a family and everyone knows each other! Must be flexible, adaptable, and really care about the community!
