Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology

• Location: Decatur, Illinois
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Day shift: 4x10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
• On-call requirement: 1 primary and 1 secondary night per week
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in Interventional Radiology (IR) and pre/post-procedure settings
• Assist with a wide range of IR procedures including angioplasty, embolization, biopsies, and stent placements
• Support gastrointestinal, pulmonary, genitourinary, vascular, and neurological procedures
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and emergency medications
• Perform and assist with IV therapy, PICC line care, and implanted port management
• Monitor patients during and after procedures, including end-tidal CO₂ and cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Perform sheath removal and manage vascular closure devices (Perclose, StarClose)
• Ensure infection control, isolation precautions, and patient safety standards
• Document patient care using Cerner charting system

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Active RN license (state license required or in process)
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Experience in a Trauma Level II setting preferred
