Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Geriatric Psych

Location: Warm Springs, Montana
Shift: 7:00 – 7:00 (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 3 or 4 days/week (36–48 hours)
Contract Duration: May 18, 2026 – August 22, 2026 (13 weeks)
Employment Type: Travel/ Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in geriatric psychiatric care to join Montana State Hospital. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, support a therapeutic environment, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform nursing assessments, care planning, interventions, and evaluations for adult patients
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Administer medications and monitor patient responses
Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral health situations
Provide direction, supervision, and support to nursing staff and aides
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care

Required Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, medications, and treatment planning
Experience in patient assessment and documentation
Ability to handle psychiatric and behavioral health patients

Experience in geriatric psychiatric nursing or inpatient psych settings Strong de-escalation skills Familiarity with psychopharmacology
