Requirements:

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum 2 years required
• Must have experience with:
  • Stroke care
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Trach care
  • PIV starts
  • Chest tube management
  • NGT placement
  • Drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG, Hemovac, JP drains, Flexiseal, Foley insertion/management)
  • PCA pumps
  • Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF

Ratios:

• RN: 1:4–6, based on acuity

Patient Population:

• Spinal surgery / spinal fusion (high acuity)
• Stroke
• Seizures
• Myasthenia Gravis
• Brain tumors / lesions
• Altered Mental Status (AMS)

Floating Requirements:

• Floating required within Mercy and regional facilities, based on needs
• Must be willing to float within scope of practice — please decline if not agreeable
• Region 1 includes: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH – peds only)
• Travelers may be floated to any facility within the region if needed
• If floating mid-shift, travel time between facilities is paid (remains on the clock)
