Shift: First Shift | 40 Hours/Week | 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Schedule Requirement: Must work every other weekend
 

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiologic Technologist / X-Ray Tech for an assignment with Summa Health – Barberton Campus. The ideal candidate will operate radiologic imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate documentation.

The technologist will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures, properly positioning them, operating imaging systems, and ensuring timely processing of patient records and radiology results.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic equipment to obtain diagnostic X-ray images
• Position patients correctly to ensure accurate imaging results
• Maintain patient safety, dignity, and comfort throughout procedures
• Process patient records and procedure documentation accurately and on time
• Perform radiology procedures as assigned based on training and competency
• Assist with select CT procedures if trained
• Calibrate, maintain, and safely operate radiology equipment
• Apply and adjust restraining/support devices when necessary
• Follow hospital safety, infection control, and radiation protection guidelines
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff
• Use hospital and radiology information systems efficiently
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations, including CPR if needed

Education Requirements

• Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved School of Radiologic Technology
• ARRT Registered or registry eligible
• Must hold an active Ohio Radiographer License

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience in hospital-based diagnostic radiology preferred
• Additional training in select CT procedures is a plus

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ARRT
• Active Ohio State Radiographer License

Required Skills

• Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to position and lift patients safely
• Knowledge of radiology equipment calibration and operation
• Familiarity with radiology EMR/PACS systems
• Strong documentation and workflow management skills
• Excellent understanding of patient dignity and population-specific care
