Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

• Location: Dayton, Ohio
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Option for 36 or 48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown unit with cardiac focus
• Monitor and manage cardiac patients including post-cath, ablation, pacemaker, and ICD cases
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (heparin, nitro, insulin, dopamine, dobutamine, etc.)
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
• Manage telemetry and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen therapy
• Perform IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Assist with pre/post cardiac procedures and patient recovery
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic charting system

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience (ICU-only experience not accepted)
• Cardiac experience required
• Experience with patient ratios up to 1:5–6 required
• Active RN license
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass EKG/telemetry competency assessment
• Experience with ABG draws required
• Epic experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
