Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) – Direct Hire

Location: Dixon, IL

Schedule: Full‑time, Nights (7p–7a), 3×12s / 36 hrs

Shift Diffs: Nights +$4.00/hr, Weekends +$3.25/hr

Sign‑On Bonus: $20,000

Pay Range: $31.49–$37.05/hr (based on experience, skills, and internal equity)

Overview

This full‑time Respiratory Therapist role provides high‑quality respiratory care across all patient populations in an acute‑care setting. The therapist follows evidence‑based protocols and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective respiratory therapy for neonate through geriatric patients.

Candidates with both CRT and RRT credentials are encouraged to apply. RRT‑credentialed therapists qualify for a higher pay scale.

Experienced candidates (5+ years) receive 24 hours of Vacation/Holiday time available on Day 1, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapies including medical gases, medications, airway clearance, and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform and document respiratory assessments and interventions in the EMR.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment.
• Monitor supply levels and ensure readiness of equipment in patient care areas.
• Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to support patients across all age groups.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree and completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• BLS certification (required).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential OR CRT with eligibility to obtain RRT per NBRC guidelines.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or proof of application prior to orientation).
• New graduates must pass both NBRC TMC and CSE exams within 6 months of hire.
• Basic EMR documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• BLS preferred for certain specialty units.
