Pride Health is hiring a Pathologist Assistant (PA-ASCP Certified) to support our client’s medical facility in Urbana, IL locations. This is a 26 weeks assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Pay rate: $60 $65 per hour

5x8s Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathologist Assistant to support anatomic pathology services under the supervision of a Pathologist. In this role, you will contribute to surgical pathology and autopsy services through specimen preparation, gross examination, dissection, and accurate documentation, ensuring timely and precise diagnostic outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Surgical Pathology**

* Prepare, grossly describe, and dissect human tissue surgical specimens
* Assist with frozen section procedures and intraoperative consultations
* Perform gross examination and select appropriate tissue sections for processing
* Conduct cryotomy and staining of specimens for intraoperative evaluation
* Dictate gross findings and ensure accurate, complete documentation

**Autopsy / Postmortem Support**

* Assist in preparation and performance of human postmortem examinations
* Perform specimen dissection and submit tissue samples for further analysis
* Support documentation and reporting of findings

**Required Skills & Experience**

* Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pathologist Assistant
* Strong knowledge of anatomic pathology procedures and laboratory safety standards
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent documentation and communication skills

**Education & Certification Requirements**

**Education:**

* Completion of an accredited Pathologists’ Assistant Training Program

**Licensure & Certification:**

* ASCP Certified Pathologist Assistant (PA-ASCP) – Required

**Work Schedule**

* 5x8s Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
* Occasional Saturday coverage based on department needs
