Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Butte, MT
Start date: ASAP
Job Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: 12 hours a day, 3 shifts a week.
Shift Type: Both days (2 roles) and nights (1 role) available
Weekly Hours: 36 hours weekly
Note:- Locals are accepted
Pay for Locals:- $57/hour - $62/hour
Job Overview:
A Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in an acute care setting. The role involves delivering both routine and urgent clinical care, coordinating treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress. Medical-Surgical RNs work in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality care comparable to other inpatient units, with a strong focus on patient safety, clinical accuracy, and timely interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
- Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
- Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
- Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
- Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
- Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
- Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
- Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
- Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Montana or Compact state active RN License
- Active BLS AHA
- 2 years of RN - med surg experience
