Registered Nurse – PCU / Cardiac Telemetry (IMC/Stepdown)

Location: Springfield, IL
Duration: 13 Weeks | Shift: Night (3×12 hrs, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

Job Overview

• Provide high-acuity care in a 38-bed Medical Cardiac PCU/Telemetry unit
• Manage patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions
• Work in a Level I Trauma & Magnet-designated hospital
• Care for post-cardiac procedure and stepdown patients requiring close monitoring

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry patients (1:5–7 ratio)
• Interpret and treat cardiac dysrhythmias
• Administer and titrate cardiac & vasoactive drips
• Provide care for post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and post-surgical patients
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, and IV access
• Administer blood products and follow heparin protocols
• Support respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes
• Perform wound care, feeding tube management, and renal care (pre/post dialysis)
• Respond to emergencies using Rapid Response/Code Teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Telemetry experience
• Active Illinois RN License (required at submission)
• Certifications: BLS & ACLS (required)
• Strong experience in:
  • Cardiac telemetry and stepdown care
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Post-cardiac procedural care
