Registered Nurse – SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)

Location: New Orleans, LA
Duration: 13 Weeks | Shift: Night (3×12 hrs, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

Job Overview

• Provide high-acuity care in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Manage critically ill patients including post-surgical, cardiac, and transplant cases
• Work in a fast-paced ICU with 1:2 patient ratio
• Deliver advanced life-support care for patients with multi-organ dysfunction

🚨 Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Transplant experience REQUIRED (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas)
• Must have Post Cardiac Surgery experience (directly from OR)
• Travel experience required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for post-operative surgical and transplant patients
• Manage ventilated patients and advanced airway support
• Monitor and titrate cardiac & vasoactive drips
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring (A-line, Swan-Ganz, PA catheter)
• Manage CRRT/CVVHD for renal failure patients
• Administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation
• Interpret ABGs and manage ventilator settings
• Perform central line, PICC line, and arterial line care
• Respond to emergencies and manage multi-system organ failure
