Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: 13-Week Contract +possible extensions
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 12 hours - Nights
Schedule: 3 days/week
Expected Hours: 36 hours per week
Pay range for local nurses:- $65/hour - $70/hour
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU to provide specialized care to critically ill cardiac patients in a high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing post-operative cardiac cases, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced life-support systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to critically ill patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Manage post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including CABG, valve replacements, and other open-heart procedures
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic parameters using arterial lines, central lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters
- Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, sedatives, and other critical care medications
- Operate and manage advanced life-support equipment such as ventilators, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO (if applicable)
- Continuously assess patient condition and respond to changes in status or emergencies (code blue, rapid response)
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including ABGs and cardiac monitoring
Required Qualifications
- Active Colorado or Compact State RN License (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiovascular ICU experience is required.
- AHA BLS (required)
- AHA ACLS (required)
- NIHSS
