Registered Nurse (Emergency Room)

Location: Bakersfield, CA 93301

Schedule & Hours

• Shift: Night Shift
• Hours: 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (based on facility need

Requirements (Hard Stops)

• Active RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• Cerner experience – required
• Epic experience – preferred (must be noted on resume if applicable)
• 3 years ER experience strongly preferred

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all acuity levels in a fast‑paced ER environment
• Perform rapid triage and patient assessments, prioritizing care based on acuity and presenting symptoms
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and trauma care
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments per physician orders and ER protocols
• Monitor patient responses and recognize clinical deterioration, escalating care appropriately
• Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, trauma teams, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
• Respond effectively to codes, trauma activations, and medical emergencies
• Operate and document care using Cerner (Epic experience a plus)
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and emotional support
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient ER environment during high census and high‑stress situations
