Registered Nurse (Medical‑Surgical)

Location: Hanford, CA 93230

 Schedule & Hours

• Shift: Night Shift
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: Typically 36 (may vary by need)
• Float Required: ✅ Yes, as needed

✅ Requirements (Hard Stops)

• Active RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years Med‑Surg experience
• Cerner experience – required

• Epic experience – preferred

   

🧾 Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical‑surgical nursing care to adult patients during night shift
• Perform head‑to‑toe assessments and monitor patient conditions
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per physician orders
• Manage patients with a variety of medical conditions, including post‑operative and chronic illnesses
• Monitor telemetry and vital signs, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, and care plans
• Accurately document care using Cerner (Epic experience beneficial)
• Float to other compatible units based on staffing and census needs
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, rapid responses, and codes
• Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive care environment during overnight hours
