Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift)

Job Details

• Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
• Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required prior to travel assignment

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, American Red Cross, or RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, American Red Cross, or RQI acceptable)
• Pass/Fail baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation (not required for legacy candidates with less than 6-month gap between contracts)
• Annual core competency training required

Onboarding & Compliance

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video must be watched before test)
• Background checks must include FCRA-compliant 7-year search, SSN trace, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG monthly checks
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; candidates may start with results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Physical exam must include physician or lab address and accommodate latex allergies if applicable
• Eye exam (Snellen) valid within 1 year required
• Resume/CV with 3 years prior work history including at least 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar area
• Skills checklist and application must be up to date and complete

Additional Notes

• Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID during assignment
• Candidates with facial hair failing fit mask testing must shave or submit approved medical/religious exemption for PAPR approval
• Flu vaccine exemptions require agency approval and facility review
• Candidates returning with less than 6-month gap may have some requirements waived (e.g., competency exams, physical, eye exam)
• Modules and onboarding status are closely monitored; delays may affect start date
