Schedule

• 🕗 Shift: Days (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• 📆 5x8-hour shifts
• 🚫 No block scheduling
• 🚫 No guaranteed weekends (may be incidental)
• 🚫 No call requirement

Position Overview

Scotland Memorial Hospital is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist (Outpatient) to provide high-quality rehabilitation services in a diverse outpatient and community-based setting.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating a wide range of patients including orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and geriatric populations, while working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations, reassessments, and treatment planning
• Develop and implement individualized Plan of Care (POC)
• Provide therapeutic interventions for mobility, strength, and function
• Deliver patient and family education, including home exercise programs
• Utilize adaptive and assistive devices safely and effectively
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge planning in Epic EMR
• Support recovery across orthopedic, neuro, and post-surgical populations

Required Experience & Qualifications

• ✅ Minimum 2 year PT experience (flexible, 1–2 years preferred)
• 🏥 Community hospital experience preferred
• 🖥 Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• 🚀 First-time travelers accepted
• 📄 Valid NC PT License required at submission

Required Certifications

• ✅ BLS (AHA)

Key Patient Populations

• Orthopedic rehab (joint replacements, fractures, spinal conditions)
• Neurological conditions (stroke, Parkinson’s, MS, TBI, dementia)
• Cardiopulmonary rehab (COPD, CHF, post-CABG, MI)
• Geriatric care (falls, debility, mobility decline)
• Post-surgical rehabilitation

Skills & Procedures

• AROM / PROM / strength testing
• Gait training and mobility assessment
• Adaptive devices (walkers, crutches, prosthetics)
• Transfer training (Hoyer lift, sit-to-stand, sliding boards)
• Pain assessment and functional evaluation
• Patient and caregiver education

Equipment & Tools

• Gait belts, walkers, crutches
• Hoyer lifts & specialty hospital beds
• Supplemental oxygen systems
• Standard mobility and rehabilitation devices

Facility Overview

Scotland Memorial Hospital is a community-based healthcare facility serving Laurinburg and surrounding areas. The outpatient rehab department supports a broad patient population with a strong focus on functional recovery, independence, and long-term mobility outcomes.

Unit & Work Environment

• Interdisciplinary support: PT, radiology, respiratory, pharmacy, social services, IV teams
• Patient age groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Diagnoses include orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, chronic conditions, and post-surgical recovery
• Collaborative rehab-focused environment

Compliance & Submission Requirements

• Must be within 50-mile radius preferred (locals accepted at lower rate)
• Must include SSN, DOB, and Nursys (within 7 days) at submission
• 2 supervisory references required (within last 2 years)
• RTO must be included at submission (max 5–7 days preferred)
• COVID vaccination required (or approved exemption)
• Epic experience must be clearly documented
