Registered Nurse (Operating Room)

Schedule & Hours

• Shift: Day Shift
• Schedule: 4 x 10‑hour shifts
• Hours: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM

Requirements (Hard Stops)

• Active California RN license
• Minimum 2 years Operating Room experience
• Recent OR experience required

• Strong circulating skills

   

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room
• Function primarily as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms with appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, infection control, and safety standards
• Participate in and enforce Universal Protocol / Time‑Out procedures
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout procedures
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per provider orders
• Monitor patient condition throughout the perioperative phase and respond to emergencies
• Manage specimen handling, labeling, and transport
• Support wound management and surgical site care
• Ensure compliance with AORN standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements
• Accurately document perioperative care in the medical record
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary staff
• Participate in optional on‑call coverage for urgent or after‑hours cases
