Description

Position: Tele Stepdown RN – Days (36H, EOW)

Assignment Details

Start Date: May 11, 2026
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift/Hours: 3 × 12-hour day shifts (08:00 – 20:30)

Requirements

Experience:
- Minimum 2 years required
- First-time travelers considered with strong skills/experience
Licensure/Certifications:
- RN Maryland State License
- BLS
- ACLS
- CPI
- NIHSS

Unit Information

Unit Type: Telemetry Stepdown
Beds/Rooms: 27 beds (27 rooms)
Average Census: 26 patients
Patient Population: Adults to geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Gastrointestinal (GI) Bleeding
End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
Cardiac Dysrhythmias
Electrolyte Imbalances requiring cardiac monitoring
Chronically ventilator-dependent patients
Patients receiving peritoneal dialysis

Procedures & Equipment

Special Procedures:
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Bedside thoracentesis
Equipment:
- Viking lift
- Sit-to-stand device
- EKG
- Zoll monitor/defibrillator
- Wound VAC dressing

Scheduling Expectations

Weekends: Every other weekend required (EOW)
Holidays: Required as scheduled
Floating: Required within specialty sister units and to lower acuity units as needed
On-Call: No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
