Registered Nurse – OB/Labor & Delivery/Postpartum

Location: Traverse City, Michigan

Assignment Type: Long-Term Contract
Duration: 13 week, with potential for extension
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | 3x12s (36 hours/week)
 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OB / Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to support a high-acuity maternal-child health unit at Munson Medical Center. This role involves providing comprehensive care across the full spectrum of obstetric services including labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, newborn care, and OB triage.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in high-risk Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting
• Circulate in OB-related OR procedures
• Deliver antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient care
• Provide newborn and postpartum nursing support
• Perform OB triage assessments and patient monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including physicians, anesthesia, and neonatal staff
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to maternal-fetal clinical standards

Shift & Schedule Details

• 3 shifts per week (12-hour day shifts)
• Weekend coverage as needed
• On-call may be required

Minimum Requirements

• Active RN license
• Required certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • STABLE certification
• Must obtain C-FMC (Intelos) within 30 days of start
• Experience in:
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Postpartum care
  • Antepartum care
  • Newborn care
  • OB triage (preferred)
• Experience in high-risk OB strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• High-risk LDRP experience
• OR circulating experience in obstetric cases
• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation skills
• Prior travel nursing experience (not required)
