Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
Location: Bronx, NY - 10466
Schedule: Day Shift Monday – Friday | 8-hour shifts | 37.5 hours/week
Job Type: Full time, Contract
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks with possible extension
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support speech therapy services in an acute care setting. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to assist in implementing treatment plans and improving patient communication and swallowing functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Speech Language Pathologist in implementing individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy services to patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
- Document patient progress accurately using EPIC charting system
- Monitor and report patient responses to treatment
- Maintain therapy materials and ensure a safe treatment environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
- Active state license required at the time of submission
- AHA - BLS
- Experience in acute care setting preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system is a plus
