Job Title: Registered Nurse – Mother Baby / Postpartum (Couplet Care)
Unit: Postpartum
Location: Seattle, WA, 98122
Shift: Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Shift Length: 12 hours
Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
 

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Mother-Baby / Postpartum (Couplet Care) for a high-volume acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years of postpartum experience, including high-risk obstetrics, and prior travel experience (required). This role focuses on providing comprehensive care to postpartum patients and newborns, ensuring safe recovery following delivery while supporting family-centered care. Strong clinical skills, especially in managing postpartum complications and medication administration, are essential.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive postpartum care to mothers and newborns (couplet care).
• Monitor and manage patients post vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Assess and manage postpartum complications, including hemorrhage and high-risk conditions.
• Administer medications such as Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin (Oxytocin).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
• Document all patient care accurately in EPIC.

Skills:

• Strong experience in postpartum and couplet care
• High-risk obstetric care experience required
• Proficiency in managing postpartum hemorrhage and recovery care
• Skilled in fundus, lochia, perineal, and incision care
• Experience with Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin administration
• Familiarity with EPIC (Required)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high census environment

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Postpartum / Mother-Baby experience
• Travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• NRP Certification
• EPIC experience required (Hard Stop)

• Floating Requirement: Yes (Postpartum units and Labor & Delivery recovery support)

• Patient Population: Infants & Adults
