Description
Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Grand Junction, CO
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Day Shifts | 36 Hours/Week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. This role involves diagnosing, evaluating, and treating patients while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RRT will also serve as a resource for respiratory care staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic respiratory procedures, including arterial blood gas analysis
- Administer respiratory therapies and medications safely and effectively
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical assessments
- Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient care
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and self-care techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with standards
- Ensure proper functioning and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental meetings
- Act as a mentor and resource to other respiratory care staff
- Float to other departments as needed and participate in on-call rotations if required
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (NBRC)
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Colorado
- AHA - BLS,ACLS
- Minimum 1+ year of respiratory therapy experience
