Description
Simpli Fi interview. Manager final approval.
2 years of recent ER experience. Critical Access experience strongly preferred. Would prefer some Med Surg experience as well. First time traveler accepted
BLS, ACLS, PALS required. TNCC, STABLE, NRP preferred.
Unit Information:
Beds: 20
Census? Average patients/day? Inpatient 1.2, ER 9/day
Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of ER experience; would prefer some MedSurg experience as well, but not required
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
All ages. Can have Peds on the inpatient unit, but this is rare and they are low acuity
COPD exacerbation, diabetes, behavioral health, chest pain, URI, UTI, traumas, strokes
This is a CAH, so travelers will care for both ER AND MedSurg patients. RN will be assigned ER and MedSurg patients. If there is a code or emergent situation, RNs will respond and CNA will cover the unit until they return
1-2 times per month will be assigned endoscopy recovery. Patients receive propofol for procedure and recovery is usually pretty quick (on the inpatient unit). If no experience, will be taught here
No respiratory therapy – RNs will give all updraft treatments. If patient is needing bipap, they are likely being transferred out. No vented patients on the floor; vented patients will be transferred out from the ER
Patient Ratios:
1:4. This will include ER and MedSurg patients. There is no dedicated ER RN and everyone is in a rotation
2 RN per shift for Days and Nights
1 Midshift RN to help cover

6 nurses recommend working with TNAA TotalMed RN
Pros
I have worked with this company for 3, along with a few others, and they have been great! They seem to be very appreciative of their staff and always sending appreciative gifts to you. I can’t say much now that they have joined TotalMed, but am looking forward to see what develops.
Cons
Rates are not always the best, would be nice to have a few more eastern and southern state options, like Mississippi or North Carolina cities
