Job Summary
The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care using the Nursing Process in compliance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership, and critical thinking to ensure safe and effective patient care.
The RN will coordinate care, delegate responsibilities appropriately, and supervise clinical staff while maintaining competencies through continuous education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in LTAC and Telemetry settings
- Utilize the Nursing Process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical decision-making
- Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff based on skill level
- Monitor patients with ventilator and tracheostomy care needs
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of RN experience (LTAC/Telemetry preferred)
- Ventilator (Vent) & Tracheostomy (Trach) experience – REQUIRED
- Active Missouri RN License or Compact (Multistate) License
Certifications (Required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA
