Location- Albemarle North, NC 28001

Shift Details

• 12hr Night Shift - 36 hours per week
• Shift Information: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• On Call, Call Back Requirements: None

Floating Requirements

Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH - peds only). Could float to any of the facilities within the region if the need arises. If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock).

About the Facility

• 109 Licensed Beds
• No Trauma Designation
• Not a Teaching Hospital – no residents/students
• Advanced Primary Stroke Center
• Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Unit Information

• Beds: 16
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years ED RN experience (Resource Team requirement)
• First-time traveler acceptance: Not preferred – will consider

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses

• Pediatric and Adult
• COPD, CHF, Chest Pain, MI, N-STEMI, Stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled DM, minor trauma

Patient Ratios

• RN: 1:4-5, based on acuity

Required Licensure & Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI – required
• TNCC (preferred)

Skills Required

• General ED skillset - Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, vent management, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, Client Assessments, etc.

Support within the Department

• CNA
• Charge nurse: may or may not have patient assignment
• IV/VAT Team: Ancillary dept, but not in house every day
• RT, 24/7
• Hospitalist, 24/7
• ED Physician Team
• Bedside and Central Tele Monitoring

Technology/Equipment

• EMR: Epic
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Phillips
• Unit specific equipment: General med-surg equipment and tele monitors

• 2 days departmental
