Cath Lab Tech Position
Concord, NC 28025)

Shift: 10hr Day (40 hours)

Facility Overview

  • 457 licensed beds
  • Trauma Level III
  • Teaching Hospital
  • Chest Pain Center/STEMI Center
  • Stroke Center of Excellence
  • Bariatric Center of Excellence
  • Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility

Unit Details

  • 12 prep/recovery beds, 2 Cath Labs, 1 Vascular Lab, 1 EP Lab
  • Minimum: 1 year Cath Lab experience (first-time travelers accepted)

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses

  • Cardiac (STEMI), Afib ablation, device placement, vascular needs
  • Heavy vascular focus: lower extremity angiogram, upper/fistulagram, interventional cases, PE, DVT, thrombolytics, venograms, fistula creation, carotid angiogram/stent, EVAR, TAVR, femoral/brachial/pedal access
  • Cath Lab (if limited vascular exp.): Assist with right/left heart cath + intervention, complex PCI, pericardiocentesis (mostly radial, some femoral); otherwise, 4x10s in Vascular Lab

Requirements

  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT or RCIS
  • EMR: EPIC (required)
  • Skills: Discussed in interview
  • Support: Cath Lab leadership

Technology/Equipment

  • IV Pump: Alaris
  • Med Dispensing: Omnicell
  • Monitors: Philips
  • Lab Systems: Merge Hemo, Siemens X-ray

Scheduling & Call

  • Shifts: 10-hour days (0700-1730), 40 hours/week; 4-week cycle
  • On-Call: Dedicated Vascular Call Team (details discussed in interview); 1-hour callback (Vascular), 30-min (STEMI); no sleep room
  • Weekends: Rotation based on department needs (occasional for vacations/call-outs)
  • Holidays: Travelers work 75%
  • RTO: Manager approval
  • Floating: None
  • Orientation: NEO + 2 days dept (EPIC training) + 1 unit day
