Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech)
Location: Hermiston, OR
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: April 13, 2026
Schedule: 3x12s | 36 hours/week
Position Overview:
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuroradiology procedures. This role requires advanced technical expertise in fluoroscopic imaging, sterile technique, and interventional workflow coordination. The IR Technologist works closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care in accordance with departmental protocols and regulatory standards.
This position reports to the Unit Manager and Surgical Services Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment for interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
- Assist with vascular, neuroradiology, and interventional cases, including scrubbing procedures
- Maintain sterile fields and adhere to infection control standards
- Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff
- Monitor hemodynamics and recognize changes in patient condition
- Coordinate procedural workflow in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff
- Deliver patient‑centered care and maintain professional medical ethics
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an AMA‑approved 24‑month Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification – RT(R)
- Current Oregon State license (OBMI)
- BLS certification (ACLS required or obtainable within 6 months of hire)
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab experience
- Experience managing fluoroscopy and scrubbing interventional cases
- Current physical exam (if required)
- Current TB test or chest X‑ray
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Science or Medical Imaging
- Additional interventional or cardiovascular procedural experience
Equipment & Technology:
- Fixed fluoroscopy imaging systems
- Portable ultrasound
- Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)
