Travel RN – Stepdown | 3x12 | Cardiac-Focused Unit

If you’re a strong Stepdown/PCU nurse who enjoys cardiac-focused care and managing higher-acuity patients, this role offers a great mix of clinical challenge and team support.

Job Overview

Specialty: Stepdown / PCU RN
Schedule: 3x12s (Rotating Days/Nights)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or rotating
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Setting: Acute Care Hospital

Responsibilities

Provide care for stepdown/PCU patients with cardiac and post-op conditions
Monitor and manage patients with chest tubes, cardiac drips, and telemetry
Titrate medications per protocol
Perform ongoing assessments and collaborate with care teams
Support safe transitions from ICU to lower acuity care

Requirements

Active RN license
BLS & ACLS required
Stepdown/PCU experience required
Experience with cardiac drips and chest tubes preferred

Additional Details

Ratios: 1:4–6
Cardiac-heavy patient population (CHF, CABG, arrhythmias, etc.)
Rotating schedule (days/nights + weekends)
No call required
Floating required as needed

Strong PCU/Stepdown experience required. Must be comfortable with cardiac patients, drips, and chest tubes. Flexible with rotating schedule.
